Skin Rejuvenation

Our Skin Rejuvenation treatments offer a solution for all the visible signs of ageing caused by sun damage, such as brown spots (pigmentation), redness (thread
veins) and uneven skin texture, lines and wrinkles.
We’ll carry out a full skin analysis with you during your initial consultation and prescribe a personal treatment plan – which may include IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) and/or laser treatments
Every body is welcome at Buff & Bare. We’d love to talk to you about the best option for skin rejuvenation treatments so please do get in touch.

How we work
Consultation & Preparation
We’ll have a chat with you to find out about your skin and what you’d like to achieve from a skin rejuvenation treatment.
We will also discuss your medical history to ensure there are no contraindications and talk about any supplements, lotions, creams or oils you may be using on your skin at the moment.
Our skin rejuvenation treatments are suitable for most people and we’ll ask you to sign a consent form and undergo a patch test before we start.
When you come for a repeat appointment, we’ll check with you that nothing has changed.
We’ll then clean and prepare you skin for treatment as well as giving your protective eye wear.
Will it hurt?
Our clients say our skin rejuvenation treatments are uncomfortable but don’t need any anaesthesia. It’s been likened a quick pin prick and application of heat or warm feeling.
If you’re uncomfortable at any point, always let us know.
The Process
Once you’re comfortable, an applicator will be placed on the skin area that is being treated.
Precisely controlled short pulses of light are released that target discolouration (brown and red lesions) to create a more youthful, even complexion.
The light results in the stimulation of the fibroblast cells, leading to increased production of new collagen and elastin. This improves the texture of the skin, evening out lumps and bumps whilst reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles.
The handpiece is then moved to the neighbouring area and the process is repeated until the entire area is treated
You might experience a bit of redness, warmth and a tingling feeling after each area of skin is treated. We’ll apply a cooling pack to help reduce this.
Treatments are carried out every 2 to 4 weeks and typically between 3 and 6 treatments are recommended for best results.
Treatment time is usually between 20 minutes and an hour depending on the area.
After Care
The skin may be quite red and slightly swollen after treatment, but this usually subsides quickly. Very rarely a small blister may form and there can be temporary lightening or darkening of the skin.
Most people experience no side effects and any skin reaction usually disappears within a few hours.
You may see a darkening of any
pigmented spots before they flake off, leading to a more even skin tone. Tightening of the skin (if you’ve had laser treatment) should increase over the following months as new collagen is produced within the dermis.
We’ll let you know when you can use products on the treated area again.
We’ll invite you back for top up treatments about twice a year.
If you experience any unexpected reactions after treatment, please get in touch with us immediately.
