Microcurrent Treatment

Microcurrent treatment is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that uses low-level electrical currents to stimulate facial muscles and improve the overall appearance of the skin.
It is sometimes referred to as microcurrent therapy, facial toning or a non-surgical facelift.
We use the UltraVisage Microcurrent treatment at Buff & Bare. It is suitable for almost everyone over the age of 18, including those with sensitve skin. For the best results, you’ll need a course of treatments to get optimum results which include;
- Lifting and toning facial muscles
- Softening of lines and wrinkles
- Improving blood circulation
- Helping restore elasticity in aging skin
- Helping delay the aging process
Microcurrent treatment has been used in the medical profession for over 35 years – it’s the same technology that is used in a TENS machine so is incredibly safe.
Every body is welcome at Buff & Bare. If you’re not sure whether Microcurrent treatment is right for you, please do get in touch and we’ll be happy to discuss it.

How we work
Consultation & Preparation
We’ll have a chat with you to find out about your skin and what you’re hoping to achieve with a Microcurrent treatment.
We will also discuss your medical history to ensure there are no contraindications and talk about any supplements, lotions, creams or oils you may be using on your skin at the moment.
When you come for a repeat appointment, we’ll check with you that nothing has changed.
We’ll then clean and prepare you skin for treatment.
Will it hurt?
Microcurrent treatement is painless for most clients. Some experience a slight pulsing in the muscle being treated but it is usually extremely mild.
If you’re uncomfortable at any point, always let us know.
The Process
The UltraVisage Microcurrent system combines a deep cleanse, the application of a gel and the microcurrent treatment.
You’ll start to see a difference after the first treatment but for the best results a series of 10-12 treatments is recommended.
Just as when microcurrent treatment is used in sport for muscle injuries, we will want to carry out these treatments in quick succession – 1 to 2 sessions per week get the best results, depending on the condition of your skin.
Treatments are usually completed within an hour and can be used as preventative technique as well as a corrective approach.
After Care
Side effects are extremely rare with Microcurrent treatment. We’ll provide you with a personalised skin care plan for after the treatment to help you optimise the results.
After the series of treatments has been completed, we’ll invite you back monthly for a top up.
If you experience any unexpected reactions after treatment, please get in touch with us immediately.
